A centrifugal pump uses a rotating impeller to transfer fluid energy through centrifugal force. The PWS ISG Vertical Pipeline Pump exemplifies this principle with a vertical single-stage design, featuring coaxial inlet/outlet ports for direct pipeline integration. Engineered for clean water, cooling fluids, or mildly abrasive media (with customized seals), it achieves 15% higher efficiency than traditional horizontal pumps, making it a satisfactory pipeline pump solution for industrial and municipal systems.

What Is Cantrifugal Pump

  • Working Principle
Centrifugal pumps rely on centrifugal force to transport liquids. Before starting, the pump body and the water inlet pipe need to be filled with water to form a vacuum state. When the impeller rotates rapidly, the blades drive the liquid to rotate, and the liquid is thrown out of the impeller under the action of centrifugal force, forming a low-pressure area in the pump. Under the action of atmospheric pressure, the external liquid enters the water inlet pipe through the pipe network, forming a continuous pumping cycle.
  • Main Structure

It includes impeller, pump body (pump casing), pump shaft, bearing, sealingring and stuffing box (or mechanical sealing device), among which the impeller is the core working component, the pump body plays a supporting and fixing role, the pump shaft transmits the motor power, the bearing supports the pump shaft and reduces friction, the sealing ring is used to reduce the internal leakage between the impeller and the pump casing, and the stuffing box or mechanical sealing device prevents liquid leakage and air from entering the pump.

Pipeline Pump Feature

  • Impeller Rotation: The motor-driven impeller generates centrifugal force, accelerating fluid outward.

  • Pressure Conversion: Kinetic energy converts to pressure in the volute casing, delivering stable flow (up to 1,200 m³/h).

  • Pipeline Integration: Vertical coaxial ports align with piping systems, minimizing turbulence and energy loss.

  • Compact Design: The pump body is a vertical structure, the inlet and outlet diameters are the same and located on the same center line, similar to the valve installed in the pipeline, with a small footprint, suitable for occasions with limited space

Key Applications of the Pipeline Pump

High-rise Building Pressurized Water Supply
Used in secondary water supply systems for high-rise residential and commercial buildings, the vertical design saves machine room space and is directly connected to the pipeline to achieve efficient pressurization.

Fire System Water Supply
As a fire-fighting pressure-stabilizing pump or sprinkler pump, the vertical structure is easy to integrate with the fire-fighting pipeline to ensure a quick response in case of fire.

Cooling Water Circulation
Used for circulating water transportation of equipment such as factory cooling towers and heat exchangers. The vertical design reduces the floor space and adapts to narrow spaces.
